Development of Laser Welding and Joining Product Line

Laser welding and joining can be divided into the following four categories according to their mechanism: laser fusion welding, laser soldering, laser curing, and ultrafast laser joining. Laser fusion welding is divided into thermal conduction welding, keyhole welding, and hybrid welding according to the welding method. Welding materials include metal, plastics, etc. Laser soldering can be divided into soldering with Sn ball, Sn wire and Sn paste according to the different feeding methods. Laser curing is different from ultraviolet irradiation and infrared oven. By means of laser heating and conduction, the product is locally heated to achieve curing. Ultrafast laser joining can be divided into brittle material (glass, ceramic, etc.) welding, metal & plastic joining. Among them, brittle materials welding mainly produces nonlinear absorption inside the transparent medium through ultra-high laser intensity, so that the material is melted at the focal point, and the joining of the transparent medium is realized. Plastic & metal joining uses ultrafast lasers to create micro-nano structures on the metal surface, and at the same time, through fixture pressure and infrared laser heating, the plastic melts and embeds the micro-nano structures on the metal surface to form a stable connection.

 

Laser welding and joining are used in various industries and in many application scenarios. No single laser core can cover all the application requirements of laser welding and joining. Therefore, JPT has developed different laser cores according to the needs of different industries. From CW/QCW fiber lasers for similar metal welding, to direct diode lasers for plastic welding, soldering & brazing, to MOPA nanosecond lasers for dissimilar metal welding, to ultrafast lasers for special application scenarios such as brittle material welding, plastic and metal joining, and finally blue/green lasers for high reflection materials such as copper and gold.
